The three men standing

Mmegi Staff Writer, BOITUMELO KHUTSAFALO looks at the three candidates vying for the position of the vice president (administration) as Botswana Football Association (BFA) heads to the polls tomorrow

Segolame Ramotlhwa
Ramotlhwa can claim to be more knowledgeable about Botswana football than the other two candidates. He has served as BFA vice president (administration) before. He worked under former BFA president, Philip Makgalemele and his successor, David Fani. He knows each and every issue concerning football in this country. When he resigned last year, he said he was being chased away by factional wars. Some are already questioning the motives behind his return especially after what he said when he resigned. One can only hope that since he is already aware of the factions in the association, he might have solutions in mind and his return could take local football to new heights.

Booker Bannister
Just like Ramotlhwa, Bannister has been a BFA insider. He served local football as the chairman of the Premier League Committee a few years ago. Some might say the current position he is contesting for is completely different from that of the PLC. But the fact that he knows issues affecting clubs as a former PLC chairman is important. Clubs shape a country's football and Botswana is no different.
