Report incidents of violence

Police Commissioner, Keabetswe Makgophe has told Maun residents to report incidents of rape and domestic violence.

Speaking at the launch of the Northern Division Police Women Network Anti-Rape Campaign in Maun recently, Makgophe said rape and related violations affect the mental and physiological wellbeing of the victims. 

Makgophe noted that Maun has been hard hit by rape as it accounts for 327 cases out of 461 reported in the policing district in the last four years.  He added that in pursuit of the Vision 2016 pillar, which envisages a safe and secure nation, Batswana should commit themselves to eliminating all forms of crime, especially the serious, violent types.
