Athletics: Botswana strikes gold and silver

Botswana’s athletics duo Tirelo Baboloki Thebe and Gorata Gabanketse won the gold and silver medals in the boys 200 meters and 800 meters respectively at the National stadium on Saturday.

Thebe who was at the best of his game battled for the first position with Zambia’s Brian Kasinda as they exchanged the leading position for a number of times during the race.

In the last 20 meters of the race Thebe unleashed his arsenal and overpowered Kasinda taking the first position while the Zambian trailed behind and South Africa’s Kyle Appel came third.
