Organisers promise tight security at Youth Games

The organisers of the Gaborone Africa Youth Games have reiterated that security will be tight during the 10-day event, which starts on Thursday.

The Botswana Africa Youth Games Organising Committee (BAYGOC) chief executive officer, Tuelo Serufho said tight security will be provided to the 2,500 athletes from 53 countries that will be participating in the Games.

“We have had meetings with the Botswana Police Service (BPS), Botswana Defence Force (BDF) and the Directorate of Intelligence and Services (DIS) discussing about the security levels which will be maintained during that period,” Serufho said.
