BCF spokesperson, Keenese Katisenge said the tournament was played in a two-hour control time format, using the Swiss system in the open section and one hour per game in the women’s category. Various chess clubs across Botswana took part in the event.After a tough competition in the open section, Seane from the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) Chess Club emerged the winner with 6.5 points followed by Clifford Masole from the University of Botswana Chess Club and Abdul Kamara from Poisonous Snakes Chess Club both with 5.5.
In the women’s section, Ogomoditse from UB was crowned champion with 7.5 points, followed by Kgomotso Ndachipiwa from BIUST with 6.5 and Lebole Segajane also from BIUST with six points.
