Another crime, more bail for threat-to-kill accused

FRANCSITOWN: A 43-year-old man on bail after a threat-to-kill charge got a second reprieve on Monday when he gained his freedom in a related case amidst opposition from the prosecution.

The state submitted that Guy Darkin should not be granted bail in the new case where he is accused of damaging property because he violated the previous bail conditions by visiting his wife at Gerald Estates.

Darkin was released on bail early this year after he was charged with threatening to kill his wife. But on Monday, he was on the dock again for damaging a Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) house that his wife lives in at Gerald Estates.
