Dominic Seadimo, the unemployed 24 year-old who found himself at the centre of sensational assassination claims by opposition political figures earlier this week, was granted bail on Wednesday on charges of house break-in.

Seadimo is alleged to have broken into Umbrella for Democratic Change leader, Duma Boko’s Tlokweng house over the weekend stealing items worth P31,287, which include a Breitling watch worth P30,000, DStv decoder, sports bag and lotion.

The alleged break-in sparked claims from some opposition quarters that Boko had dramatically escaped an assassination attempt ostensibly organised by shadowy state figures. On Wednesday, Extension II Magistrate, Abigail Masawi, granted a visibly remorseful Seadimo bail. Seadimo pleaded guilty and informed the court that he would be representing himself throughout the proceedings.
