The nation and Madomi are reminded that a certain Sydney Pilane who has voluntarily resigned from the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) is often heard making statements as if he is still a member of the BDP or a member of the BDP faction called Barata-Phathi.

Pilane is reminded that he can only call meetings for his new party (if at all it will ever be) and not under BDP or any of its organs. Be reminded that Barata-Phathi is a faction of the BDP and to this day continues to be so and all its members are members of the BDP. Therefore Pilane cannot speak for Barata-Phathi.

Barata-Phathi are those members who love their party and still remain loyal to it, yet prepared to criticise and stand against anything they feel is wrong, in a courteous way and within the provisions of the laws of their party. Barata-Phathi are those members within the party who are prepared to respect others and the will of the majority and the authority of the leadership yet expecting the same from them.
