The Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) has alleged that its leaders are on a political hit list. This was after the UDC president Duma Boko’s residence was broken into last Friday night.

During the UDC election launch for Gabane/Mankgodi constituency candidates, the coalition parliamentary hopeful Rtd Major General Pius Mokgware revealed that apart from threats on Boko’s life, a Cabinet minister recently confided in him that he should tread very carefully. Mokgware, who retired four years ago as the commander of the ground forces in the Botswana Defence Force, alleged that the minister told him that the hit list on UDC leaders extended to a select Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) members who are living in fear of being eliminated.

Mokgware also alleged that President Ian Khama is implicated in the laptop that was allegedly stolen by the late John Kalafatis.
