TONOTA: Former vice president and past immediate MP for Mahalapye-West Mompati Merafhe has described the opposition Botswana National Front (BNF) as a sinking ship. Merafhe was addressing multitudes of BDP diehards from across the party’s regions and branches at the Tonota bus/taxi rank at the launch of the party’s parliamentary candidate, Thapelo Olopeng and nine council hopefuls last Saturday.

“I once told MP Kentse Rammidi upon his resignation from the BDP when he joined the BNF that his action was akin to a frog swimming towards a sinking ship,” said the frail-looking Merafhe to thunderous applause from the crowd.

Rammidi has since crossed the floor to the opposition Botswana Congress Party (BCP).
