Six years ago President Ian Khama ascended to the highest office in the land with much fanfare.Unlike presidents before him, he promised Batswana manna from heaven. His pledge to Batswana to take them to another height economically, has failed to materialise.

It turned out to be just empty talk.But under Khama’s reign, Botswana is fast regressing to the level of another Banana Republic in Africa.

The President’s contempt for the private media, labour movement and academia is legendary.
