The devil is in serious trouble! Today, Botswana welcomes a woman of God who needs no introduction to this country. Pastor Irene Tshifhiwa will be ministering at the Lobatse stadium this afternoon.
She continues her ministration at the same venue on Saturday from 10am and the last of her three-day service will be on Sunday morning until late afternoon.
Many Batswana know Pastor Irene through her television channel World Restoration Services with some travelling to South Africa to attend her outreach programmes or visiting her church in Thoyandou, Limpopo province. Pastor Irene is well-known for her powerful deliverance sessions as she casts out demons from people of all ages including young children afflicted by demons and witchcraft spells.
Many who watch her sessions are dumbfounded by the demons that are usually arrested in individuals by prayer in the name of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. When evil spirits are arrested in individuals, the individuals do strange things such as manifesting animal movements such as snakes, crocodiles, elephants while others even groan and cry out.
This is what Pastor Irene calls manifestations of the evil spirits. Some of these spirits talk through the person they inhabit. Viewers of Pastor Irene channel and Emmanuel television are now used to seeing people in trances and speaking strange things such as "I want to destroy her and her family, she is not going to get married, I will kill him, I have tied her life or her womb or she is my wife".
All these are evil spirits speaking through a body they have inhabited and they are usually manifesting before they are kicked-out by the power of the Holy Spirit. In one of Pastor Irene's television shows there was even a young girl who literally ate grass, but she received her deliverance. Most of the age group that is
Pastor Irene is not just about delivering those that have been bound by the devil but she is also used by God to heal all sorts of ailments. Pastor Irene is not new to Botswana as she has been here before at Gaborone Tsholofelo Park, Francistown and Kasane and at each occasion reports are that she touched many souls.
There is no doubt that many Batswana will travel from the length and breadth of the country to Lobatse where they believe they will get their deliverance, healing, fortify themselves with the word of God and get a chance to be in the Lord's presence. Because of the cold winter nights, organisers have ensured that the services are conducted during the day.
Pastor Tshifhiwa Irene was born in Venda, Limpopo Province. She did her primary, secondary and part of her tertiary education in her home province. She was married in 1984 and did not bear any children until she became a widow in 1992. For 12 years, she worked for Standard Bank of South Africa between 1990 and 2001 when she left to get into full-time ministry.
She leads the World Restoration Services and this ministry is founded on the meaning of covenant names "Tshifhiwa Irene", which she received when she was eight-years-old. On her official website it is written thus about her, "For protection against the evil kingdom and to enable her to fulfil restoration purposes of spiritual conquests, Jesus clothed her with spiritual garment of splendour, which has the glitter of fire."
