Relegation threatened Prisons put Letlapeng under pressure in the first but failed to made any headway and paid the price in the second half. Prisons had a chance to take the lead in the 25th minute through Duncan Kgopolelo, but Kefitile Magama and Mompoloki Rangwang thwarted him. Letlapeng started the second half by pulling out Kagiso Kgaile and introducing Kabelo Kadisa. Prisons captain, Kabelo Mothabane was red carded in the 52nd minute after exchanging words with the referee. Sadat Sinare was unfortunate in the 72nd minute when Tutwane saved his attempt. Keitiretse Madikwe had an opportunity to get a goal for Prisons a few minutes later but Kakanya Dipholo was alert and comfortably dealt with the threat. Letlapeng coach, Thaloba Nthaga told Monitor Sport after the victory that they played under a lot of pressure. He said that they created many scoring opportunities that they failed to utilise. Nthaga explained that playing against a team that has nothing to lose could be tricky. The victory improved Letlapeng’s chances of winning the title and gaining automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Prisons coach, Digger Montwedi did not have kind words for the match officials. He said they made wrong decisions that cost his team the game. He faulted the officials for disallowing a Prisons’ goal and the red card to his captain, Mothabane. He said that his game plan was affected and they could have walked away with maximum points had they not lost a player.
