All Change

Eventful days, are they not? Hard on the heels of the publication of Speaker Margaret Nasha’s candid autobiography has come the Cabinet re-shuffle, the transfer of Minister Venson-Moitoi to head a new specialist sub-department in her own Ministry, and there has been the National Assembly’s agreement to spend P293 million on buying Orapa House for, as we had been made to understand, new premises for the Office of the President. Everyone and his aunt has already commented on Pelonomi Venson Moitoi’s transfer and made their own judgments about it.

I won’t do so because, much to my regret, I am poorly informed about the issues involved. I do note, however, that her appearance on BTV Wednesday’s evening news did clearly show the awesome strain that heading that particular Ministry can bring.

In that respect, she deserves our understanding.
