Khama�s salary hike irks BOFEPUSU

Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) has described as unfortunate the decision by President Ian Khama to announce a salary increment for civil servants at a Kgotla meeting in Kachikau.


“It would be very unfortunate if His Excellency made an unilateral announcement during his Kgotla meeting. He has totally disregarded the rule of law. Salary negotiations are a purview of the bargaining council. He can’t usurp the powers of the council,” BOFEPUSU secretary general Tobokani Rari has asserted.
