The two-day presidential summit between Omar Hassan Al-Bashir of Sudan and Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan held under the auspices of Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, and former President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa, was concluded Saturday in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia.
The two leaders discussed issues including implementation of Temporary Administrative and Security Arrangements (TASA), the final status of Abyei, implementation of existing agreements,
and also matters related to the border.
Mbeki, who is also Chairman of AUHIP, and Hailemariam who is Chairman of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), told reporters that they are satisfied as the two leaders discussed all matters on the agenda for the two-day summit.
Mbeki said the matrix for the implementation of the existing agreements should be ready by January 13, 2013. (Xinhua)
