Coke Cup draw goes ahead despite Chiefs-TAFIC dispute

The draw for the semi-finals of the Coca-Cola Cup will take place at lunchtime today despite the fact that a decision on the abandoned quarter-final tie between Mochudi Centre Chiefs and TAFIC is still pending.

Extension Gunners, Township Rollers and Mogoditshane Fighters are through to the last four while the Botswana Football Association (BFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC) meets today to decide the fate of the Chiefs-TAFIC match that ended prematurely last Tuesday. The tie was abandoned due to insecurity with Chiefs leading 2-1.

BFA spokesman and member of the Coca-Cola Cup organising committee, Phakamile Kraii said they decided to pass the matter to the DC last week after going through the match report. "There are some issues that we identified when analysing the match report that we felt needed the attention of the DC, so a decision will be made tomorrow (today)," Kraii said.
