Illegal Batswana immigrants arrested in Zambia

LUSAKA: Two Batswana nationals were over the weekend apprehended by Zambian immigration department officials for overstaying in the country.

Zambia immigration department spokesperson Mulako Mbangweta confirmed in an interview that the duo were arrested for failure to extend their days of stay in Zambia.
She stated that the two were apprehended with 40 other illegal immigrants after the department carried out a clean-up operation exercise to get rid of   illegals in Zambia.

Mbangweta said the operations were carried out in Lusaka and Shangombo areas.
She said in Shangombo area, an Angolan national who entered the country illegally on Saturday was apprehended at a Roman Catholic guesthouse around 22 hours but paid an admission of guilty fine.
