Legal issues with creative works
One of the most vital elements of making a living from your art is to set up yourself as a business entity. Regardless of what kind of project you are embarking upon, you will require a business structure that will involve money, people to be paid with that money such as employees and outsourced con...

Nothing beats a Botswana wedding!
Botswana has a high divorce rate and it has been proven that less people are getting married in our country. However this hasn’t dampened the mood of some people They defy naysayers and continue to tie the knot and follow their nuptial sealing with big, pompous wedding parties which leave memorable ...

Money does buy success, albeit temporarily
Although football is a 11 against 11 team sport, there is the belief that money plays a big role in the success or failure of a team. Well, there is truth in that money does buy success, but in some cases, that is not the case; infact, it becomes a case of money causing capitulation. There are two s...

Is it our business what Saleshando and family choose to do?
Things in politics are intriguing; often no one really speaks the truth. HIV infected persons forced to disclose their status
Last week I argued that the effect of the looming Public Health Law would render HIV testing compulsory. This is so because patients will be liable to an HIV test with or without their consent. In the event that they refuse, they will be hauled before the Magistrate Court to show cause why they sh...

Is the condom worth all the attention?
Having worked for a company that peddles the condom previously - with keen interest in our attitudes towards the latex - particularly, it has been intriguing to read stories of the condom that Minister Masisi made famous in parliament. I do not know what the views of the guys at PSI and ACHAP are ju...

About women, men and marriage
Last week, my wife and I celebrated our eighteenth wedding anniversary. Eighteen years! And it is almost twenty-two years since we first met in exciting Gumare. Some men forget wedding anniversaries after one or two years of marriage. This is not a good idea because while men worry about the things ...

Are successful/ independent women really cheeky and rude?
A few weeks ago I was listening to Yarona FM breakfast show and the presenters asked their listeners whether successful/independent women are cheeky and rude as often perceived (a ba makgakga). A lot of men commented and most of them responded in the affirmative. Is it true or its just plain ol’ hat...

Should we have a rate card for the arts?
I think so. It would help categorise certain arts, bring other types to the fore and enable growth and development. Perhaps this lack of guidelines is a contributory factor to the inability for artists to grow and sustain themselves. Artists would take themselves seriously and be taken seriously.
