Giants clash
The Mascom Premier League clash of the week takes place at the National Stadium on Sunday between Township Rollers and the high riding Mochudi Centre Chiefs. The match takes place when the two giants are having a good run in the Premier League and are regarded as title. Both possess top quality players.

BCF releases Africa junior shortlist
Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) has released the names of players who will represent the country at the forthcoming Africa Junior Chess Championships (AJC). The team consists of six boys and four girls. It will be reduced to a four-strong squad (two boys and two girls) for the championships. The BCF has been given a last minute go-ahead to host the AJC by the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) after Algeria, South Africa and Libya failed in their bids. However, the BCF will have to foot all the bills of the AJC because it did not honour the requirement by BNSC to issue a four-year notice by affiliates wishing to host international events.

Fighters coach appeal for calm
MOGODITSHANE: Mogoditshane Fighters' assistant coach, Patrick Molefhe, has appealed to supporters not to put the players under pressure to win every game. His comment comes after the team's first loss over the weekend to Young Strikers. He told Mmegi Sport they have realised that supporters expect them to win every game just because they started the league on a high note.

Ghetto teams head south
FRANCISTOWN: All three giants of Francistown soccer travel south of the country this weekend in search of vital Mascom Premier League points. Save for greenhorns ECCO City Green, the other Francistown sides in the Premier League TAFIC and TASC have fared badly this season. ECCO has caused waves in the three seasons it has been in the national league as the fortunes of TAFIC and TASC take a nosedive.
