Blame BMC inefficiency not EU
Your editorial comment of 28 April 2006 calls for a review of the policy to sell Botswana's beef to the European Union (EU). Whilst your attention to the beef industry is welcome and needed, your opinion in this matter is incorrect.

The truth about the Cinematograph Act
In the 4th May edition of the Mmegi newspaper (p. 5) the Managing Editor of the Gazette newspaper, Clara Olsen, is quoted as saying: "We have long advocated the abolition of the Cinematograph Act, but it still exists. The Act makes no sense as it says that anyone who takes pictures should first seek permission from the Office of the President."

Botswana's democracy is useless
For the past number of years, the international community, especially the western countries, has described Botswana as the shinning star of democracy in Africa.
