UB student vies for BCP youth leadership
FRANCISTOWN: Botswana Congress Party (BCP) will hold its youth elections in Selebi-Phikwe on April 1. So far three candidates have shown interest in contesting for the youth chairmanship. They are Brains Kwadipane, Gaborone Central constituency treasurer Virginia Masole and deputy secretary general Sethibe Sethibe.

Barata Phathi passes buck to Mogae
The marginalised Kedikilwe-Kwelagobe faction of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) has resolved not to disband until their demands are met. The faction known as Barata Phathi wants its members to be accommodated in high positions in the party and the cabinet.

The death of a beauty queen
A 20-year-old beauty queen, Lungile Ndlangamandla was found dead at her parents' home in new Canada on Monday. The body of Miss Botswana 2004 was discovered by her cousin.

LOBATSE: The Lobatse Town Council (LTC) adjourned its sitting twice yesterday because of legal proceedings launched by former deputy mayor, Tefo Pule.

BNF allies turn against each other
The forthcoming Botswana National Front (BNF) Youth League central committee elections have pitted allies against each another. This has resulted in the University of Botswana lecturer, Letshwiti Tutwane crying foul that he has been betrayed by Gaborone mayor, Nelson Ramaotwana. The two former close friends are vying for the BNF youth presidency against the incumbent Gabriel Kanjabanga.
