Business confidence soars despite inflation rise
Local firms, which form part of the Bank of Botswana (BoB) Business Expectations Survey (BES), have revealed that they expect inflation figures to rise this year and go down next year but still remain above the BoB ceiling.

Standard Chartered Bank, one of Botswana's largest commercial bank has released record performance results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2006. The bank's loan book stood at P2.2 billion. This was an increase of 17.7 percent from the P1.9 billion recorded in the first quarter of 2005.
