The report notes that in 2001, the economy experienced a robust growth of 8.6 percent and also did well in 2003 recording 7.8 percent and 5.7 percent in 2004. This economic performance has been attributed by the buoyant performance posted by the motor vehicle industry. The report outlines statistics as the number of newly registered vehicles' increases. This increase is testimony to the fact that the dealership industry has done fairly well over the years. In 2001, the report noted that over 7,600 vehicles were registered. "The number increased by about 150 percent to 19,045 in 2002. Dealers may be making substantial profits," reads the report in part.
