Daisy Loo exposed
The High Court was told that Gaborone sanitation company, Daisy Loo not only got the Segoditshane River valley bush clearance tender fraudulently and corruptly, but also unlawfully utilised Gaborone City Council’s (GCC) workforce and equipment to execute the job.

No police station for Makalamabedi
The government has no plans to build a police station at the Makalamabedi veterinary gate. The Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration Phandu Skelemani told Parliament on Monday that the police have maintained a permanent strategic road checkpoint at the Makalamabedi veterinary gate since March 2004.

Jamataka gets village status
FRANCISTOWN: Finance Minister, Baledzi Gaolathe said yesterday that the process of declaring Jamataka a fully-fledged village has been completed. Speaking to Mmegi yesterday, Gaolathe, whose Tonota North constituency includes Jamataka, said what is remaining are technical aspects like surveying residential plots, lands and cattleposts.

Police Act does not bar legal representation - lawyer
FRANCISTOWN: The law does not bar a police officer from having legal representation at a disciplinary hearing, a lawyer has told the High Court. Phazha Kgalemang told Justice John Mosojane yesterday that there is no provision in the Police Act that prohibits officers from appearing before a disciplinary committee with a lawyer.

FRANCISTOWN: Chief Magistrate Kenneth Obeng sentenced three men to 18 months in prison yesterday for stealing diesel. Goitseone Selabe, Odirile Mokae and Smolly Kgalaeng pleaded guilty of stealing about 800 litres of diesel from their former employer, Lobtrans Truck Company.
