Who benefits most from rural development? The report in the Daily News earlier this week headlined ‘TGLP ranches rent up’ doesn’t seem to have drawn much attention in other media or anywhere else, as far as I can determine. As the report pointed out, the rent for each of the 8km by 8km square ranches was four thebe per hectare, or P256 per year, and since sometime in the 1970s when the ranches were allocated, the farm rentals have not increased.Chedza Mogae-the police responds

“Collins is the daughter of prominent Botswana advocate, Peter Collins, who is also the co-owner of one of the country’s most prominent law firms, Collins & Newman. Her father has also worked for years as a High Court Judge”.
