Mogae is safe
Presidential spokesman, Dr Jeff Ramsay said yesterday that President Festus Mogae’s safety is not threatened. He was responding to talk that the Office of the President (OP) might be tightening the President’s security.

He said he was standing outside the club in the wee hours when he saw a woman. He approached her but she told him that she was not interested in talking to him because she was with somebody.

FRANCISTOWN: A middle-aged woman was yesterday fined P500 for smoking dagga. Elizabeth Lavarick of Tonota shocked the fully-packed magistrate’s court when she admitted that smoking dagga was a habit and she felt active after smoking it.

Man jailed for arson
FRANCISTOWN: A man was yesterday sentenced to seven years imprisonment for arson. Thirty-two year-old Mositse Makabe of Matsiloje was sent to jail by Chief Magistrate Kenneth Obeng after being found guilty of burning down his former girlfriend’s mother’s hut.
