Nasha is Acting President
The Minister of Local Government, Margaret Nasha, is the Acting President, while President Festus Mogae is in Egypt on a state visit. Speculation is rife that Nasha had to act, as the Vice President Ian Khama is already on holiday.

House suspends Intelligence Bill
Parliament suspended debate on the Security and Intelligence Bill to a later date to finish other business for the House. Member of Parliament for Molepolole North, Gaotlhaetse Matlhabaphiri, tabled without notice a motion calling for the adjournment of debates on the Bill, as it would require a Special Select Committee of Parliament.

The Botswana Police Service is offering a reward of up to P100 000-00 to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of suspects who allegedly attacked and robbed Fidelity Cash Management Services of over US$800 000-00 and 80 000-00 Euros in cash at Sir Seretse Khama Airport yesterday afternoon (18 December 2006).
