WHITHER BOTSWANA
Govt must stop blame-shifting game, negotiate with Basarwa

Shifting blame is a fairly common habit of incompetent and dictatorial regimes. Whenever their oppressive policies and incompetence begin to hurt their populations, they quickly find someone else, usually foreign entities and local opponents of the regime, to blame for everything that causes discontent in their countries. Fortunately for us in Botswana, they do not have to go far to witness an excellent example of this phenomenon, however much the apologists of the regime in question may try to make it look different from what it really is.

Scrape off the drivers' test
Kindly allow me to respond to David Slater's letter which appeared in one of your editions of January 2006. I think it is better to be late than never. One would have expected the industry stake holders to come out with their own side of the story. However, there has been deafening silence for the past 11 months, which could mean that Slater might be having a point.

CKGR as a tourism resort?
There is only one solution to the CKGR issue. That is tourism! Government and the Basarwa could help develop a small tourist town in the CKGR like Kasane (which is in a game reserve!). With all the hype about CKGR, tourists would flock like bees to honey!
