Top of the table clash
FRANCISTOWN: The eagerly awaited top of the table clash between hosts ECCO City Greens and Mochudi Centre Chiefs in Francistown has set tongues wagging in the city. In almost every corner of the northern city, fans are discussing the game that has a direct bearing on the Mascom Premier League leadership.

Flames train coaches
FRANCISTOWN: Basketball side Francistown Flames in partnership with the Kings Foundation held a three-day clinic at Mater Spei College for school coaches this week. Flames' coach and Kings Foundation Botswana director, Matt Leowen, told Mmegi Sport that one of the problems facing the growth of the sport is lack of knowledge of basic rules and fundamentals of the game. Kings Foundation is a United Kingdom based Christian organisation meant to develop children through sport.

Nare rides the crest of waves
Mochudi Centre Chiefs' coach Daniel 'Chicco Dance' Nare is currently riding the crest of the waves. But he does not want to be carried away by the success he has achieved so far. Currently he is pondering how to strengthen his squad. Already he has identified five defenders and a holding mid-fielder.

Inaugural golf tournament to mark AIDS Day
A group of volunteers are organising an inaugural golf tournament tomorrow at the Phakalane Golf Estate, to mark the commemoration of the World AIDS Day. The event is known as the Stanbic Bank First Lady Charity Golf Day. One of the organisers, Clyde Vanqa said the proceedings would start at 11.30am, with the First Lady, Barbara Mogae, on hand to meet the participants. The day will end with a prize giving dinner.

Gunners' fans must shun violence

Last weekend Lobtrans Gunners' fans were at it again. They reportedly bayed at referee Israel Malepa saying that he disallowed what they felt should have been the winning game in a 2-2 result.

Rollers humiliate youthful Gunners
Township Rollers demolished Lobtrans Gunners 4-1 in a pulsating Mascom Premier League match at the National Stadium on Wednesday evening. The action-packed game started at a fast pace with Rollers taking the lead shortly after kick-off. Seconds before the goals, Rollers had missed a golden opportunity.
