Fifty-seven hectares of land has been reserved for the proposed Botswana Innovation Hub in Gaborone's Block Eight.Addressing a national stakeholders seminar on the proposal for a Botswana Innovation Hub the Minister of Lands and Housing, Ramadeluka Seretse said; "The size of the land is enough to allow for future expansion.

Botswana behind in reforming ways of doing business
FRANCISTOWN: Botswana is not amongst the countries which are reforming the way they do business, according to the World Bank and International Finance Corporation (IFC) recently published report entitled "Doing Business 2007-How to Reform".

Non-banking financial institutions to be Regulated
Minister of Finance and Development Planning Baledzi Gaolathe presented to Parliament a Bill on the Regulatory Authority of Non-Bank Financial Institutions. He said that the objective of the Bill is to provide for the regulation of non-bank financial institutions for the purpose of enhancing their safety and soundness, encouraging the highest standards in their conduct, as well as improving fairness, efficiency and stability of the financial system. "The non-bank financial institutions are currently regulated by my ministry under four different Acts, namely; The Insurance Industry Act (1987), the Pension and Provident Funds Act (1987) Botswana Stock Exchange Act (1994) and the Collective Investment Undertakings Act (1999)," Gaolathe said.
