QUESTION TIME
How a New York Times writer views the film Blood Diamond!

"In 1938, a memo sent to Harry Oppenheimer outlined a bold new advertising strategy: Motion pictures seldom include scenes showing the selection or purchase of an engagement ring to a girl. It would be our plan to contact scenario writers and directors and arrange for such scenes." So reads the introduction to Marc Santora's article in last Sunday's New York Times.

Travelling has become a nightmare
Travelling has become a nightmare. Back in year 2000 or so it was a different nightmare. These days if you're planning to travel through Johannesburg by plane, it's better you carry nothing but your mobile phone just in case you get beat up and you need to call an ambulance. But then thieves can still take the mobile off you.

Did union mislead members?
I wish to refer to an article carried in your newspaper of 13th October 2006. I am a member of a team of Union Leaders at branch level who have just emerged from Prison for contempt of court. One of the things that landed us in jail, are lies which the leadership of Chimidzani Chimidza and Jack Thagale has for a longtime peddled. It is not power jostling but lies and misleading of the general membership over many things including the Debswana and BCL strikes.

Will the Ramotswa killer motorist come forward
As a concerned citizen and a resident of Ramotswa, I wish to share my concern with other readers in the hope of starting a discussion or may be even trigger some morality attack in the driver who caused an accident some time back in Ramotswa.

Tribute to Caesar Motlhasedi
Please allow me to use your newspaper to pay tribute to one of this country's great men who passed away this week in Selibe Pikwe. The great Gabriel Caesar Mothasedi or Rra Seleti as he was affectingly known in his home village of Tobane where he was the chief of the village, is not only a loss to Tobane alone but to the country as a whole.
