Francistown welcomes pottery festival
FRANCISTOWN: Lekgaba Training Institute in Francistown is hosting the first ever pottery festival to be held by Batswana in Botswana. The festival is aimed at promoting pottery and ceramic art in the country and is being held at Galo Centre in Francistown. The festival, which began on Wednesday, will run for a week and many people around the country will be showcasing their craft. The festival has brought together people from Serowe, Molepolole, Letlhakane, Kasane and Maun.

Extra-Melody to launch album
Extra-Melody, a popular Rhumba group will launch their third album “Black Mampatile”, on Sunday, at Chez Ntemba. The band leader Biza Mupulu told Showbiz that their album will be released on the day of the launch, adding that the new album is their best work yet. The album which has eight tracks, features eight songs which includes the title track Black Mampatile, Ma Africa and Thuso, song composed as an effort to educate people on the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Other songs in the album include Linda, Tautona, Lefufa, Obabone, and a remix of Black Mampatile.

Nightclub licence withdrawn
Members of the Tsholofelo Ward Development Committee have welcomed the decision by the Gaborone City Council not to renew the licence of Club 22.
