Botswana’s disaster preparedness is wanting
In this era of disasters, questions are being asked whether Botswana is prepared to handle major calamities. Disasters have caught even the highly developed countries napping as recently evidenced by the tsunamis, hurricanes, cyclones, veld fires and floods in various parts of the world.

Is Sesana a hero or an agitator?
I had not intended to write again about Basarwa, but do so now because Roy Sesana, one of their leaders, has become Botswana’s second recipient of a Right Livelihood Award since its inception in 1980, but more especially because I was the first recipient from our country, in 1981 for my educational work in Botswana and with ZIMFEP in Zimbabwe.

Treat Basarwa with respect
It is disturbing that the encounter between First People of the Kalahari and the government has taken this turn, despite the fact that the case concerning the right of Basarwa to remain in the CKGR is before the courts.
