SADC move enhances democracy
It is comforting that SADC has adopted binding standards and norms on elections at the just ended conference in Maputo, Mozambique. Elections have been a thorny issue in Southern Africa particularly where there has been no consensus on results. The Zimbabwean elections where conflicting verdicts were made by observer missions and the SADC Parliamentary Forum are a clear case in point.
