We Salute You Nigel The Sunday Standard (Oct 30-Nov 5) posted an article entitled “Lord Jones still fighting on Botswana’s corner”. As a freelance journalis,t I am all too familiar with the misunderstanding that can be caused to readers by headlines and by captions to photographs. Most readers will assume that both the headline and the captions will have been written by the author of the article and may indeed be so incensed, certainly by the former, that they write to the editor to denounce the poor author for something that he may never have written.Bugalo Has A Point
Monitor makes interesting reading, because it usually carries very provocative articles and letters to the editor. The topics in any one issue can be quite varied, except in situations where there is an election or crisis, such as the recent by-election in Gaborone West North.
