Gaborone Man Puzzled By Police Failure To Charge Zakhem
Is Nicholas Zakhem immune from prosecution or are the police protecting him? These are some of the questions, which a Gaborone man is asking after the controversial Lebanese businessman allegedly smashed his four-wheel-drive station wagon. The man who did not want to be identified said that in 2003, Zakhem who was in a rage, smashed his vehicle at a yard in Block 8.

Compromise To Dominate BDP Meet
The ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) central committee meets today in what is expected to be an attempt to find a way forward on the compromise hot potato. It is anticipated that the meeting will try to hammer compromise between the two warring factions.

Police Start Enforcing Cellphone Regulation
The police have started enforcing the new regulation banning the use of cellphones by drivers. Superintendent Bakae Karata told Monitor over the weekend that those found using the cellphones while driving will be fined P200 on the spot.
