Crime Does Not Pay There is an old adage which says, “Crime does not pay” and indeed there was a time when this was the case and criminals knew that it does not pay to be involved in criminal acts. But now it’s all doom. The boom, we are told, is bust. The economists having made a total mess of managing the economy are about to ask us all to understand that matters cannot continue as they have been. Speeches. Talk. Loads of talk. Empty talk at times. Audible yes. Intelligible?
I wonder. Sensible? I doubt. Some of the speeches are given at official events where one of the strict requirements is to be nice to the authorities.
