Naughty Boys lost their second game in a row, going down 2-0 to Police XI at the bumpy SSKB Stadium on Saturday. Dintle Mogomotsi scored a brace in the 19th and 90th minutes, to bring sorrow to the handful of Naughty Boys supporters.

The Tlokweng side has not won a game for a month in the Mascom Premier League after shocking Notwane 3-2. Their best result is a goalless draw against Lobtrans Gunners. On Saturday, they failed to match Police XI, which controlled the game with ease. Police exploited the gaps in the Naughty Boys’ defence and Betsho Pius was particularly outstanding. He ran at the defence in the 13th minute, dribbling past the unconvincing David Mfolo, before goalkeeper Obakeng Tutwane stopped his grass-cutter. Pius proved troublesome to Mfolo and Akanyang Mokibe in Naughty Boys’ defence.

Against the run of play, Naughty Boys nearly took the lead in the 15th minute when Kaone Molefhe made a determined run on the left, beating two Police XI defenders. He put in a good cross but Ikaneng Ntshupeng’s disappointing header could only hammer Jackson Legodi’s cross bar.

Mogomotsi opened the scoring in the 19th minute, taking advantage of a collision between Mokibe and Oaitse Kgaswane. He easily tucked the ball under the advancing Tutwane. Police XI created and wasted a number of chances. Tutwane saved Naughty Boys from further embarrassment when he made a brilliant save to stop Mwanza’s header.

For most of the second half, both teams played a dull game, punctuated by reckless fouls. But the game came to life in the 77th minute when Mwanza capitalised on Mokibe’s mistake and made an unsuccessful attempt to score. Naughty Boys nearly equalised when Legodi punched the ball into a forest of players in the box. They paid the ultimate price when Mogorosi beat the offside trap in the 90th minute to make it 2-0. The win leaves Police XI in second spot, a point behind Nico.

In the other games played on Saturday, ECCO walloped Mochudi Centre Chiefs by 2-0 while Notwane shared the spoils with FC Satmos in a 3-3 draw in Serowe.
