In what could be a sign of an ability to listen, President Festus Mogae has yielded to public pressure to embark on a tour of the country to address Kgotla meetings.

Mogae reveals why Good was deported
After long, agonising speculation and conspiracy theories were bandied about, President Festus Mogae yesterday came out of the closet and revealed why he expelled Professor Kenneth Good from the country. At a Christmas cocktail party for the media at Boipuso Hall, Mogae said that it was not true that Good had been deported for his uncomplimentary views on democracy and good governance in Botswana. “It is not true,” he said.
