Minister shocks BFA
The Botswana Football Association (BFA) has been shocked by a statement from Labour and Home Affairs Minister Moeng Pheto, that it would not be feasible to host the 2010 African Cup of Nations. The statement was made on Btv’s Sunday programme, ‘Matlho a Phage’.

Botswana bows out of tennis circuit
After a good start, Botswana’s hopes in the ITF circuit tennis faded yesterday at the quarterfinals. It was the end of the road as the country’s last hopes Laone Botshoma and Bokang Setshogo failed to reach the semis in Gaborone.

UB, Maruapula win schools’rugby titles
The rugby season came to an end over the weekend with the school league finals. In the girls’ final, University of University (UB) beat St Joseph’s College 10-0. After the loss, St Joseph’s College captain, Keitumetse Kebaitse said they performed well in the league. Apart from the draw against Molefi Senior Secondary School and their loss to UB, they won all their matches.

Dube hunts for elusive medal
Botswana’s 800m hero, Glody Dube faces another test of character tomorrow in his third attempt to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki, Finland.
