Opinion/Letters
Are we in step with today’s world ?
I suppose one might ask which world. The Industrialised world? The ThirdWorld? The Developing World? I had more in mind whether or not, and howfar, Botswana subscribes to a consensus of social, cultural, economic, legal and political values of most countries in the United Nations andto the UN constitution and principles as well as to the aims and goalsof other main UN Agencies UNESCO, the World Health Organisation, the International Labour Organisation, and so on.

Way to go PHK
It is interesting to see today in parliament an element of seriousness among MPs in their pursuits to stand for their voters’ interests. It is no doubt that the motion calling for the abolition of the nomination of the so-called specially elected councillors is in the interest of the public.

What a lost opportunity
The Botswana government led by the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that it has no heart. It does not believe in the consultation process, does not listen and shows no indication of listening anytime soon.

Another glass of wine
Walkie bursts into the kitchen and finds Ausi Maggie and Tshini at the table. She helps herself to Maggie’s bottle of wine before she even says hello to any of them. Everybody at the Nitty Gritty is used to Walkie’s behaviour.
