The classification of African music
About 40 years ago, a number of young West Africans assembled a group called Osibisa and carved out a new niche for African music on the African continent and Europe. Their music made room for expressive improvisation as opposed to cosmetic embellishment upon the melodic theme as was generally the case with most African music before, and Dixieland.

Electoral body launches booklet
At a small ceremony at the Conference Centre of the Gaborone Sun on Wednesday last week a special event took place. It was the launch of a small booklet entitled ‘Principles For Election Management, Monitoring and Observation in the SADC Region’.
