Karate team bring medals
The Botswana team which took part in the 1st Hayashi-Ha World Open Karate Championships in Malaysia returned home yesterday with five medals. The three-strong team of Kevin Groth, Parle Stojanovic and Azim Allie won two gold, two silver and a bronze and finished fifth out of 24 sides that took part.

Stage set for second Game City marathon
The annual Game City 21km and 5km Fun Run is scheduled to take place on October 24. This will be the second year running that Game City will be sponsoring the event. The race is sanctioned by the Botswana Athletics Association and organised by the Gaborone Runners’ Club. The race is part of Game City’s second anniversary celebrations.

BVF uses players as referees - official
BOTSWANA Volleyball Federation (BVF) acting president, Sesupo Mosweu has said that they face an acute shortage of umpires. The association has therefore decided to train players to officiate league games. Mosweu explained that BVF referees who are not players are not enough to officiate the league games.
