Kalahari packs the musical punch
So, Managing Editor of Mmegi, Titus Mbuya, surrenders a Socca Moruakgomo CD for review. Kalahari features 12 tracks of original compositions with the exception of two. The folk song Mankhudu, originates from the Central District, most likely Mmashoro. It was originally arranged for the Botswana Defence Force band in its modern form. The lyrics are couched in the idiom of the Setswana poem in 6/8 time. Socca attributes the song to Ratsie Setlhako. The second is Thumbs Up by Malcolm Watson. It sounds like a filler.

9/11 report nominate for book award
The 9/11 Commission Report is one of the finalists for the prestigious National Book Awards, a rare appearance for a government report. The finalists, announced Wednesday, were posted on the National Book Awards Web site.

Jackson anger over Eminem video
Michael Jackson has asked TV stations to stop playing Eminem’s new video, which ridicules the pop legend, saying it is “outrageous and disrespectful”. Eminem dresses as Jackson for the Just Lose It video, and is shown on a bed with young boys. His nose also falls off and his hair catches fire. “It is one thing to spoof but it is another to be demeaning and insensitive,” Jackson said.
