Opposition needs a fresh start The Botswana electorate has spoken, and its message is quite clear. It continues to have enough confidence in the Botswana Democratic Party, and considerable doubts about the opposition parties. This shouldn’t surprise anyone. The BDP has governed this country reasonably well since the mid-1960s. In contrast, the opposition parties are better known for their infighting and consequent fragmentation than for their leadership and organisational skills.
