ISSUES IN EDUCATION
The Education Act for Botswana is under review. A new Education Act should fully incorporate the rights of the child. A framework is needed to protect and develop those rights within schools. Botswana has endorsed other international agreements that relate to the rights of the child. These include the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights (1981) and The African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of The Child (1995).Stooges and Puppets Are Despicable
Stooges and puppets are generally despicable. Bootlickers are even worse. They take their affliction of regal mimicry too far. Some of them are young and able persons who could use a little independence of thought and action. But no. They remain trapped in an orbit of sycophancy. Such characters hang on to the coat tails of those in a position to offer them appointments as specially elected members of Parliament or even cabinet ministers.
