Chiefs deny Nare interest
Centre Chiefs have denied allegations that they are seeking the services of Maletamotse coach Daniel “Chico” Nare. The Mochudi side maintained that contrary to reports, they have not opened talks with Nare to recruit him as head coach. At the weekend, Mmegi Sport was informed that the current Chiefs’ coach, Ernest Kupe’s contract ends this month and the management had decided not to renew it.

Cricket team prepares for World Cup
THE national cricket team is in camp to prepare for the second stage of the 2007 World Cup qualifiers. Botswana is scheduled to play Zambia in Lusaka between August 1-7 in a group that includes Namibia, Uganda, Tanzania and Nigeria who are associate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The cricket World Cup will be held in Ireland in 2005. For Botswana to qualify automatically, they have to get position one or two.

BOBSA champions sent packing
THE BOBSA Annual Ball Sports National finals were held at Masunga Sports Complex from Thursday 22nd July to Saturday 24th July 2004. The games which were officially opened by Kgosi Masunga saw all defending champions from last year losing their titles.
