Opinion/Letters
Khama lacks leadership qualities
IN the edition of July 22, a reader by the name of Kenneth Dipholo opined that Vice President Ian Khama must work hard to earn respect as a man of integrity, dignity and honour. He also expressed the view that he lacks many qualities that one would like to see in a president. While I generally share Dipholo’s sentiments, I do not however share his optimism that this candidate for fourth president simply has to work hard to improve his leadership qualities. I believe he simply does not have what it takes to lead a democratic republic.

The gap between the rich and the poor: Does God have a plan?
PART 2 I would like readers to review with some statements from the National Long Term Vision for Botswana. “The fifth principle for Botswana will be Botho (Setswana word for respect, good manners). Botho as a concept must stretch to its utmost limits the largeness of the spirit of all Batswana. It must permeate every aspect of our lives, like the air we breathe, so that no Motswana will rest easy knowing that another is in need.”“By the year 2016, Botswana will be a compassionate and caring nation.
