Heavy musical moment at Mambo Jazz LAST Saturday night, the Mambo Jazz Restaurant in Gaborone was the scene of a heavy musical moment featuring three musical troupes. The first credit goes to musician and Mambo Jazz director and owner, Ndingo Johwa for both his foresight and business acumen that has created a musical home for all local music groups. Mambo Jazz restaurant can now boast of being a venue for extra-ordinary gigs. The second credit goes, equally, to the groups that graced the night; Ndingo Johwa’s Satjilombe group, Abraxas Jazz Combo and Qani Xiite and all her Basarwa dancers.Jazz maestro Sipho Gumede dies
SOUTH African jazz musician, Sipho Gumede died on Monday after a short illness. Sheer Sound managing director, Don Gaile confirmed his death to the South African press yesterday afternoon. Gumede was last seen here performing to hundreds of enthusiastic jazz patrons at the St Louis Jazz Concert last year.This Way I Salute You
